Skoda India Trademarks 5 New Names For Their Upcoming SUV Range!

There could be atleast 5 new SUV models under Skoda’s Project India 2.0, to surface eventually!

Those waiting for the upcoming Skoda cars under their India 2.0 project now has a reason to rejoice, as the carmaker has registered trademarks for as many as five different nameplates, indicating at five distinct SUVs coming this way over time! The products in the pipeline under Project 2.0, will be named, Konarq, Kushaq, Kosmiq, Karmiq and Kliq.

The most anticipated launch for Skoda in recent times is the SUV based on the Vision IN concept. The SUV is being tested in many parts of the country and reports suggest that Skoda would reveal the name in January 2021.

While there is only one model coming up initially, company has trademarked 5 new names and we suspect Skoda to be aiming at expanding their India 2.0 fleet in coming years. The names definitely carry the Skoda touch in it, starting with ‘K’ and ending in ‘Q’. Most of the Skoda SUVs are named in a similar fashion.

Skoda will globally unveil the upcoming SUV in March 2021 followed by the Indian launch in Mid-2021. The Creta-rival mid-size SUV is built on VW-Skoda’s MQB-A0 IN platform. Which will also make way for a similar range of VW cars at a later stage.

Skoda will offer the SUV with 2 engine options, a 1.0L turbicharged petrol and a 1.5L turbocharged petrol. The former will produce 110hp and 175Nm of torque while the latter is rated at 150hp and 250Nm of torque with transmission options of 6-speed manual, 6 speed automatic, and a 7 speed DSG on offer.
